Andie Whitwell
Education or teaching was never something that I thought I would do. I became a teacher because someone told me that I couldn't do it. I have been in education for 21 years now. My first year I taught three students diagnosed with Autism. I absolutely loved the challenge. Every year, I have taught Autistic students.
The last four years, I have been providing consulting, collaboration, and coaching to school districts. I also provide Autism training to educators.
My goal is to help educators be successful in the classroom and want to stay in education.
Teaching is about being prepared and being consistent in the classroom. Every student is unique and learns a different way. Teachers have to learn how to teach using different modalities, strategies, and address the strengths of students with disabilities.
